Pedro Laurenz

Pedro Laurenz (1902–1972) was an Argentine bandoneón virtuoso, composer, and orchestra leader known for his bold, energetic, and deeply expressive tango style. After playing with Julio De Caro, he formed his own orchestra in the 1930s, creating intense, rhythmically driven music that remained highly danceable. With singers like Alberto Podestá, he recorded classics such as Recien and Quejas de bandoneón. Laurenz’s innovative phrasing and powerful sound made him a key figure in tango’s evolution.
